Hi :) I saw your post about your camera. An 18-55 kit lens isn't necessarily good or bad for portraits. I really like to do portraits, and I use a 24-135 mm lens from Tamron but it is discontinued. But a fixed 50 mm is a good option, or even a macro lens. I really like my 24-135, even though you can't get that exact one anymore there are lenses that have a wide range - just not as big as mine. That way you have the option to zoom when you're shooting :)
Hey, thanks so much for your reply :D Looks like I’ll be doing some research on fixed 50mm and macro lens! I’ve always loved photography, but it all seemed like it was way over my head, haha but now that I’ve had my son I’d really like to learn some basics and get a nice lens so I can have little “photoshoots” with my boy :P Beats spending hundreds of dollars getting photo’s done of him every year! Thanks heaps again :)
