So, today my husband brought something to my attention. It’s no unknown fact that Australia’s Classification Board is a joke, but I think allowing The Darkness 2 in AU makes them look far more ridiculous than ever.
A game like Mortal Kombat, that EVERYONE played at one point or another, the latest release of the game is banned for Australia, because it’s TOO gruesome for Australia’s MA 15+ rating, yet The Darkness 2 was approved, in all it’s gore (that which is far worse than Mortal Kombat) and sexual content, then MORE sexual content was added and it was STILL approved.
6 months ago, an R18+ rating was announced for Australia, but it won’t be available for another 2 YEARS. They’re just giving Australians more and more reason to import games.
The Darkness 2 is clearly an R18+ game, how they can see it as an acceptable game for an MA15+ rating and Mortal Kombat as NOT, just boggles the mind. Oh and let’s not forget that us Aussies were only allowed a “modified” version of Left 4 Dead 2, as it was too “gory” in it’s original state for Australia.
Australian Classification Board, you are a joke.
Also, don’t misunderstand the point I’m trying to get across, I’m glad the retards didn’t ban The Darkness 2, but in comparison to MK9 and L4D2, it just makes no sense.
